Barclaycard direct debit

So angry right now just had to share!!

Set up a direct debit online to pay my min payment Barclaycard whilst i went into hospital, checked it before i went in "direct debit set up".

Get home, check online statement - £12.00 late payment fee!!!!

Cue me going mental on the phone! They said it takes 6-8 weeks to set up the direct debit, however i wasnt told this when i set it up.

It was agreed if i paid my July min payment they would refund my late payment fee so i have

Moral of the story: just want everyone to be aware that it takes 6-8 weeks for them to set up the direct debit so please please carry on paying your min payments.

However, i having recently been in hospital and having PPI i was going to claim on the PPI for the min payments to be paid. Is this supposed late payment likely to affect my claim??

More specifically, if your statement doesn't say the payment will be collected by direct debit then it won't be.

The 6-8 weeks is an absolute maximum (from phone call to first collection date) and is only 'achievable' if you ask to set up a DD the day after your statement date.

Anything mentioned in your PPI T&Cs?

Nothing in T&Cs as they are from 2000 and i was only issued a Summary of the Cover. It says if i want to see the master policy i have to write to the managing director at barclays in dublin.

If i get nowhere with this claim im gonna try and reclaim all the PPI anyway as i believe (although cannot prove) that i was missold it when i was 18 (if i still can reclaim - dont see why not)
