Holiday settings

I have a small E-bay business, and normally end all my listings a week before holiday and schedule them to re-start as I return. I have now opened an Ebay shop so this year will be able to use the holiday settings. I'm looking for anyone with experience of this as to whether it is better to a) hide all my fixed price listings for the holiday period or b) display the message that I am away and unable to post until specified return date. I presume this means that buyers can still purchase? I don't want to get my stars for dispatch time hammered! I usually sell approx 40-70 items per month and am looking to be 'unavailable' for 14 days.

Many thanks

We close for a two week stock take and staff go on holiday, once a year.. A week or so before this I make all my listings as immediate payment, then on the day turnoff and leave one person on email support.

Thank you both for your replies. I think I'll go for the option to hide my lisitngs as chemical.galaxy says, not all buyers read and I think I'd prefer a drop in sales for a couple of weeks rather than lose my stars!!

I used to have a shop a while ago and it works a treat.

As long as you pull auctions or don't relist them, since I don't think they will be covered, it will be OK.
