Part Exchange/"Trade and Upgrade" Engine Warning Light Help!

Hi All,
I've had a search but can't seem to find anything that answers. Basically I'm looking to trade in my nissan micra for a new car (looking at the Hyundai i10 to save on running costs in the long run). I'm due to test drive tomorrow and my Engine Management Light has come on on my car that I'm looking to trade in
.
This came on a couple of weeks ago as a sensor fault and to be honest knowing I want to get rid of the bloody thing (it's been nothing but expense for me) I started looking about for a new car.
My question is, will I be able to "Trade and Upgrade"? It says for cars 7yrs+ (which it is) they will guarentee £1500 agaisnt the model but but they should have no "major mechanical faults". Would this sensor problem be counted as a major mechanical fault? The car runs without issue, just sods law that the light has come on the day before possibly taking it in for trade in. Other than this, it's in good condition generally - just worried they will take one look seeing the engine management light is on and give it a no go :-(
Thank you in advance!

The warning light is just that - an indication that the computer has picked up an error somewhere in the system.
Its a relatively minor thing.0 -
Thanks! I took it to the dealer this morning, but had the codes cleared beforehand. Light's come back on again and I'm just going to sit tight and not use it until I get the new car on Wednesday. To be honest he didn't even take the thing for a drive, just offered an amount (which I thought reasonable) after wandering around the car for a bit and looking at the bodywork. I've signed to say that's the price to accept the car on Weds. Do they tend to check anything else when you go to Trade in?
Thank you :-)0 -
