New company trying to generate new business, which is fair enough.

I know the family and they are decent people.

I'd recommend you give them a try. :)
  • motorguy.... sounds like you're just trying to bum this place up because you know them, or work there... they're certainly not a new garage, and are known to a lot of people for ripping off, especially through these groupon deals, doing a "service" (nothing appears to get done) and then producing lists of over £500, excluding VAT of course, of things to be fixed. Some of these don't need done, for the things that do need done the prices are a joke! The parts must be getting shipped from around the world, never mind the labour!

Also, broke something on my car then tried to charge me to get it fixed... as part of this said the clutch was going to go if I didn't get the problem that they caused fixed right away, which it wasn't, and that it would cost £300 or more if it went... which is a load of sh...

Only used it at the time for the cheap service, which seems to have been pointless but certainly wouldn't let anyone I know go here after the experience myself and others have had with them. Since finding this out have heard some stories about it, needless to say it wasn't just a one off bad day they were having! I would have appreciated honesty and fair prices from the place, and I would have at least recommended them to other people, but not a chance now!

Even heard of them trying to charge someone £1000 for a new gearbox... the problem was then fixed by someone else for £15! Typical old fashioned attitude of seeing people coming who they assume won't know anything about cars, and make up what they like! Not a way to run a business, or to generate a good reputation!
