Can anyone recommend any good software ?
I'm planning for an early semi retirement and want to make sure my budget projections work taking into account my different investments and savings, different investment growth assumptions, inflation assumptions etc. I have been using MS Money but its old and I think its got a few bugs in it ! I can make up spreadsheets but this seems a bit crude.

A spreadsheet can be as crude or as complex as you wish to make it. I started off with a one-sheet list of assets 20 years ago and now have a 12-sheet offering that includes projected monthy income and expenditure (I :heart2: August!).
My problem now is that I have decided that I 'need' sheets 13 and 14...Living for tomorrow might mean that you survive the day after.
It is always different this time. The only thing that is the same is the outcome.
Portfolios are like personalities - one that is balanced is usually preferable.

absolutely correct - spreadsheets are simple to use - and great for developing a finance tool to suit your needs - and you understand what its doing because you wrote it -don't bother with ms money or any other tools - its not exactly rocket scienceArk_Welder wrote: »A spreadsheet can be as crude or as complex as you wish to make it.
