Advice wanted about private parking invoice

Options
good afternoon,

firstly i would like to explain the circumstances of me receiving this parking 'invoice'.

i had an appointment at hospital in torquay so to avoid parking in the hospital grounds which is a nightmare always very busy i decided that i would park in a retail outlet.

i entered the car park and dropped my partner at the entrance to the shops (she is pregnant) the idea being she would do some browsing have a coffee etc rather than wait with me in the hospital, i would then walk over to the hospital have my consultation and then return to pick her up!

i parked at 10:25 and made my way over to hospital on foot, i was exceptionally lucky and my appointment was on time and i returned to my car by 10:45, 10:50 at the very latest.

on returning to the retail park to meet my partner i noticed something on the front windscreen and went to have a look, it was infact a ticket.

on inspecting the ticket it was laid out not like an official council one but on more of a till reciept and the reason for me getting this ticket was for parking and leaving site!! timed at 10:27!!!!!!! and a charge of £100 is now due to be paid within 28 days of this ticket which was today.

if possible could someone suggest what i should do?
i have two reciepts one for a coffee purchased in one of the stores timed at 10:57 and one for another item purchased at 11:11.

should i appeal the ticket claiming i was infact using the retail park legitimately (buying goods) using my reciepts as sufficient evidence?

or should i completely ignore the invoice and await further communication?

kind regards

K

    1) Ignore the ticket and any correspondence
    2) Contact the 2 stores in question expressing your disdain for the situation and inform them that you and your family will no longer give them your business whilst these cowboys are emplyoed
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

We didn't need any details at all, just your heading was enough. :)

Private parking ticket, whatever the circumstances = a bogus PCN, a scam.

Ignore it and do not even think about 'appealing' (as if!). Read the top threads on the forum for a preview of the letters you will receive, and for a fun Watchdog paper aeroplane clip.

Make sure anyone else in your household knows this is a scam too so the debt collector letters are not taken seriously at all.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I asked as I was admitted to Torquay hospital once, when I was on holiday there. Parking was horrendous in the hospital I agree. We left our car in that car park for 2 days!:o

No PPC there then though! It was always empty as well. Remember at night the local chavs used too gather with their souped up Corsa's!:D
