Printer does not like paper

Recently bought some T-shirt printing paper which claims to be compatible with all ink jets. Our Epson RX585 just chews it up and will not print. Other T-Shirt paper works fine but is absolutely terrible once ironed on to the T-Shirt.
On what basis should I return this to get a refund?
TIA

What is the weight of the paper? The maximum weight is 300 g/m2 for the Stylus 'C48', 'D' range 'DX' and 'RX' range All-In-One printers. Non-Epson papers can cause paper feed issues, either due to the paper being too physically heavy for the paper feed mechanism, not feeding properly or due to the coatings some manufacturers use on their papers.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The paper is no heavier than standard A4. Think the issue may be the very thin coating the side to be printed on has. You peel this off & then seal on to the T-Shirt with an iron.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Possibly "not as described" then. It does sound as if the Ink Jet feed roller simply cannot grip it enough to feed it through the printer.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
At least I still have all the paper (even if it is somewhat mangled) :rotfl: So back to WHSmiths it goes.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

Have you changed your print settings to account for the new paper type?0

Yup! Hence the many mangled pieces of T-Shirt paper. No option for this particular paper so had to keep trying different settings.Have you changed your print settings to account for the new paper type?Truth always poses doubts & questions. Very pleased to report WHSmith refunded my purchase without a quibble or a murmur. :TTruth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

I think Phoodles meant the paper wasn't as described, not the printer

In printer preferences, maintenance, is printer options listed? If so, is there a box to tick for thick paper and envelopes?0

The paper in question had a soft matt finish on a rubbery layer over standard very thin backing so no heavier than 100gsm in total. For our printer (Epson RX585) it was the coating snagging on the feeder near the printing head that was the problem.Truth always poses doubts & questions.
