Alternatives to Howdens Soft-close

I've just seen the price Howdens want to charge us for drawer and door soft-close hinges/mechanisms.

Is there a cheaper way to get the same effect that's not too difficult.

Unfortunately the drawers have already been done - but fitter says that as we had not requested these from Howdens (designer just decided to include them in the package) he was willing to go back and get regular fittings.

The trouble is, now that we've seen them and played with them in situ, we quite like the idea of having them - but don't like the idea that it's costing several hundred pounds for the priviledge.

I see from other threads that there are alternatives - so can anyone point me in the right direction?
