Faulty Amazon Product

I bought a musical activity table for DS on Amazon about 2 months ago.

It has 2 volume settings, of which I've only ever put it on the lower volume setting. He uses it every day.
Yesterday I went to put it on the higher setting, as it was noisy outside, and difficult to hear, and I discovered that it has a "stutter" fault, where when you press say a piano key, then it plays the tune for a split second, then reverts to playing the opening "on" tune. It does this with every key/button/lever, so basically it doesn't work in the loud volume mode. This fault is only on the music setting, and not the language setting.
My electronics knowledge is very basic, so not sure why it would do this, when it works perfectly on the quiet setting.
What do I do about this? Amazon only let you return things within 30 days, so as it was over this time period, they won't let me contact them.
Is there anything I can actually do, or will I just have to leave it?

Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If it doesnt work you still have rights if the item is faulty. I'm assuming its off Amazon directly and not a seller. (with Sellers you have 3 months to open an A-Z claim)
Phone Amazon and speak to them and see what they say. I have always found Amazon CS very helpful.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Thanks. I'll have a look for a number and give them a ring and see what they say. It was indeed bought direct from Amazon.
It's just one of those things that's annoying but not the end of the world, but if I wanted to ever sell it, it would massively affect the price.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Where is there phone number?!? I'm going round in circles trying to find it, and it keeps coming back to telling me it's beyond 30 days to return an item, so I can't even email them! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

The below link tells you what to do if an item is faulty after the 30 days returns date is up.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=1161002
If you press the contact us on it you get back into the circle you've no doubt been on all day. So it looks as though you may need to contact the manufacturer.0 -
I finally found an option to email Amazon, although they were all for strange categories i.e. changing details on account etc... so I just selected the "other non order" option.
I just politely asked if I could get a replacement.
Within 1 hour, they had replied saying a replacement is already in the post, and I can send the other one back for free!
Yay!
Bravo to Amazon! Am very impressed with their customer service!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Well done for persevering, actually - the only time I've had problems with an Amazon item, I spent an age trying to work out what to do, got a returns address only to find out I had to print out a special label (no printer at the time) and then gave up. The item was a computer game which was the wrong region coding - so I rang my computer geek friend and asked her how to fool my computer into thinking it was American. So...no need to return.
Well done Amazon as well. This is one of the reasons I use them a lot more than eBay in some areas - you know what you're getting."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I don't have a printer either, but they've obviously realised that some (lots??) of people don't so there's now also an option for people without a printer to create a return label! I presume I'll have to scribble some sort of code and stick in on the box.
I use Amazon a lot, and this is the first time I've ever had a faulty product, so am really pleased with their customer service. It's good to know they put their customers first!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
