Halifax Reward Current Account

Hi

Does anyone know what happens if I open one of these and then DON'T pay in £1000 a month? Do I just not get the £5 reward, or is it mandatory to pay £1000 in monthly?

Thanks for your help.

So it's not mandatory to pay in £1000 a month then? Excellent ...

Probably because you don't have the Reward current account, just a standard current account.

You need to re-designate standard accounts to a Reward version. Have you done that?

yes, thank you - statement says quite clearly at the top it's a Reward Current Account - and I do get the £5.00 sometimes.

Make sure it is the right type of account for you. Yes it has benefits with it but will you use them? It can end up costing you £15 per month just to get £5 credited! :)

This thread is about the Reward account, not the Ultimate Reward account.

Then you need to be asking Halifax why it's not being paid.

Just out of interest, you do know the credits are required per calendar month and not per billing, ie statement, month?

I do know that, I get paid weekly, works out at over £1000.00 a month because it's nearly £300.00 a week.

I will ask them though cos it seems odd
  • This month they have rather cheekily applied an 'Overdraft Arrangement Fee' of £1.00 on my account, even though I haven't asked for an overdraft to be arranged. The account had a free £250 overdraft when I opened it, up until this month.
