Scottish Power FIT - Beware problems

I have just had solar PV installed. Being a Scottish Power customer, I thought I would download the FIT claim documents whilst I waited for the MCS certificate to arrive. I have waited 6 weeks so far.
Scottish Power will not pay the FIT since the installation date but only from the date your claim form was received. The longer the MCS certificate is delayed and your forms don't get sent off the more money you go without.
Scottish Power say this does not matter as the 25 year period startes from the time they receive the documents. Fat chance. Either you will have switched to another supplier by then or Scottish Power will not be around. I detect bending of the rules. I think a complaint to Ofgen is warranted.
