VM ware Workstation 7 and windows 7 home prem-Cannot get past installation

Hi MSE users
I am having a bad time in the computer world at present :mad: Just purchased a new copy of workstation VM and trying to get it to run on a windows 7 Acer 5553 laptop so i can have server 2008 as my guest o/s and ubuntu (Lunix) in VM fully working
One problem is that it goes to install ok then when it comes to a part of the installation it rolls back the installation and says there was some sort or problem and my computer is not modifed.
Been trying to four hours now! can anyone help who's great with VMware and windows 7
