Should I sell or keep 2nd car? Do I really need it?

It really does depend on what your plans are for the next few years.
My second car sat idle for a year but I then had a baby, and I am so pleased I didn't sell it, as I have used it non stop for the last two and a half years and wouldn't be without it.
So I guess it all depends on what your life plans are0 -
My OH's car broke down about a month ago now, and requires the engine replacing. Its now parked on the drive as we cant afford the repairs at present. The car is currently being sold as spares or repairs. As we said, no point in shedding out more money for something else to go wrong with it.
At the moment, we are doing fine with just the 1 car, Ive put him on my insurance (which has reduced my insurance payments), he walks to work in a morning, and cause I finish work in the afternoon, I'm able to fetch him.
We will miss his car for the storage space etc (his was an estate, mine's a saloon), but to be honest, we're saving that little bit more now. ie - no extra tax, petrol, insurance etc...
He said he would like another run-around car, but if we're coping now, then there is no need for another!
See how you cope with just using the one car for the time being. Try it for about a month, then decide.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
I have a 10 year old car from new - and it's starting to cost more and more each year to get through the MOT.
As I know the car's history and have always kept it serviced etc... and as I'm focused on clearing my mortgage, I opt to pay for the repairs.
Even a £500 bill is cheaper than my having to buy a new car or risk taking on a used car who's history I do not know.
I have to have a car for work as public transport is in bed at the times I need them.0
