I was in Ikea the other day and they had a paddy that I'd entered through the exit rather than travelled up four stories on a travellator thing to use the main entrance. They just want you to walk through their showroom so you buy more stuff. But I can't abide all that. I know what I wanted, I knew where it was and I wanted the quickest route there. I hate their showroom; all the stuff looks tatty, the lighting gives you a headache. It makes me want to buy less stuff, not more! I'm not a sheep, I'm a person and I won't be controlled by your business model. That told them! *
* Obviously I didn't say any of that. Just looked apologetic and promised never to do it again"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Managed to speak to Consumer Direct who now appear to field all trading standards calls. They agreed that not warning customers that there was an issue was wrong and have agreed to forward the details to Trading Stds for investigation. Ironically the tills are still glitching apparently and still nothing has been done. So much for the manager promising that all would be rectified overnight.0

Yep, and the store is deliberately designed so the short-cuts are well concealed. This is why I usually enter any store through the "out" door where possible
If you go in Ikea through the "out" door and go to the store side of the tills, they sell [1] big blue bags which are ideal for using in supermarket trolleys to carry your shopping from the till to the car. One of the few Ikea products that I like.

[1] They used to, I don't know if they still do. Last couple cost less than a pound each.0
