Tom Tom not working can anyone advise?

hi all just popping in from the Oldstyle board with a bit if a problem.
OH's Tom Tom is suddenly not receiving GPS signal. He has reset it and downloaded the updates and all it does is keep restarting. Any suggestions please as it's our first and we haven't used it much.
He's driving me mad trying to sort it! Can anyone help before I toss it out of the window?

Hi Santer thanks for responding OH says it keeps turning itself on and off. It says no gps signal.

It says to try the sat nav outside the car in case their is a heat reflective shield, apart from that it says to do what you already have

Just added the bluetooth bit in case you didn't see that bit
One had the problem, support sent him a fix but said certain parts are device specific so he didn't post it on the forum
Their e-mail support is reasonable though it could be a few days before they get back to you

Have a search on the Tomtom site for a program called 'clearflash' and run it a few times as per the instructions.
Also have a look at the forums at https://www.pocketgpsworld.com lots of helpful people on there when it comes to tomtom.
