Home Report - Electrics Category 3

Options
We are going for a second viewing on an old house. The home report has highlighted a category 3 for the electrics and states "there is no visible evidence of earth cross bonding".

Can anyone advise worse case scenario cost for putting this right?

Was going to ask seller if they would consent to an electrician having a look before we put an offer in but not sure if they would do this.

Thanks.

Standard stuff for old houses, they only put it in to cover themselves. Me it wouldn't bother me and I would weight it up with the condition of the rest of the wiring electrics. If anything needed doing I would get it done then. If you call an electrician in for other work say to fit a shower they will insist in doing it anyway to bring it up to current standard.
As for how much it would cost how big is the house?

Like the sound of that. Its a 2 bedroom semi detached - not a huge house. Needs a new bathroom and we would be doing that when we moved in.

There is no requirement for cross bonding in the latest wiring regulations, only for gas and water supplies to be earth-bonded on entry to property.
However, I would think they should allow electrician to inspect if you ask.
