It's due to be £699.99 on Boxing Day - I notice it says resolution is 1024 x 1024, does that mean it's better than the Panasonics?

It uses Alis to achieve the 1024x1024 res although this not "progressive" in a true sense of the word (it only supports 1080i). Also look at the contrast ratio, this screen has a 3000:1, the panny has a 10000:1, on Plasmas the contrast ratios are very important. So in a word, no, it's not "better" than the panasonic.553780080 -

It's sorted already, looking at 37+ inches, get a Plasma..anything under that, go for LCD553780080 -
basically panasonic and pioneer lead the market with plasma TVs. i bought this one a month or so ago on the recommendation of my techno friends!! :TNEVER EAT YELLOW SNOW!!!;)0
