We bought the 37inch back in July - very impressed - did a lot of research beforehand and well pleased. A techy friend of ours also bought one he wanted a HD tv to play his hd games on the xbox and I must say the pictures were amazing. A fantastic price for this size as well.0

I think there will be a lot of bargains around like this next year. Although it is quite right in saying HD ready, there are different levels of HD, this being the lowest. In short, normal digital TV is made of 576 lines, this TV can show a resolution of 720 lines. However, Xbox 360, PS3, bluray and HD-DVD can output 1080 lines (significantly better quality). TVs that can show 1080 lines will remain at the expected higher price while TVs like this will probably all come down. That said, it is still a very good TV.0

As a previous poster mentioned, this TV is one of the best you can get and for that price it's a bargain. We paid £1800 for it a year ago with the stand. This TV also support 1080i via component and 1024/768 via VGA so it looks mint with the Xbox 360.553780080 -

This TV supports 1080i in component mode and if you have HD DVD/Xbox 360 connected via VGA, 1080P.553780080 -

no it only supports up to1080i, not 1080p.0 -
Don't forget 2% via Quidco brings it down to £881.99 deliveredA cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.0

Yeah, sorry a mis-type, was meant to say 1024x768 via VGA. The only Panasonic Viera to display 1080p natively is the TH-65PX600U, 65" bad boy, you'll pay 5k for it thoughAnd if you can tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p on a 42 incher, you have the eyesight of a god lol.

If you techies don't mind me asking - how does it compare with this Hitachi from Richer Sounds: http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=HITA-42PD6A10
It's due to be £699.99 on Boxing Day - I notice it says resolution is 1024 x 1024, does that mean it's better than the Panasonics?
Cheers,

It's available at several other places with free 5 year guarantee up to Dec 24th although it is around £1000.0
