    Morning all!

PIC - im glad im not the only one with no savings! Makes me sweat though as I know we wouldnt last a month without our wages!

weesmiler - hopefully it wont be too bad! I just know he will be an awful patient too - bad enough with manflu! Although in reality he has not been able to lift our son since he was 5 months old (he's 1 now!) or more importantly play golf :P so fingers crossed he will be back to normal after the surgery!

tumpty - that is such a fab idea! I really want a fish pedicure but nothing comes up on Groupon in my area and im not paying £20!

Well finally listed things on ebay yesterday and a couple have bids already :) My 3 year old daughter has an obsession with Lelli Kelli shoes and I told her a few months ago that if she saved up for half then I would pay the other half - they are flipping £50!! Well she is nearly there! I cant believe it - she has £22 in 3 months and I dont even know where she got half of it! I asked DH and he told me that if he ever has her out at shops when I put her hair in pig tails - people just give her money!! She is extremely cute with pigtails........evilplanforming.............

anyway - a promise is a promise so i'll have to stump up the other £25 at some stage in the next couple of weeks for silly beaded shoes that wont last a month :(
    July £53/£155 Aug £6.55/£155
July GC £307/£250 Aug GC £0/250

Maybe save them for 'best' as she wants them so much? Or is that to do with her feet growing pretty quickly? I laughed at your post - when I was kid, I *had* to have those Clarks shoes with the magic key or those awful plastic high heels you find in Poundland fancy dress section nowadays! :p Well done her for saving up though

Thanks to everyone for their helpful comments re: potential new car - I went to test drive it and the bleddy thing was sold, so that made the decision a bit easier! :rotfl:

Just a quick one: we have scammers in our area coming round knocking on doors and asking people if they have received a letter from TalkTalk (but I guess it could be any firm) offering them a stupendous new cheap deal if they will change provider. Having said there's this great new deal on offer, they then ask if they can come in and check your phone. What happens if you let them in I don't know (robbery, perhaps) since the person who posted this warning on a local forum knew she wasn't due to change over to TalkTalk (she's already with them) and didn't let the person in.
    Forewarned is forearmed. ;)

Tumpty- great idea there. I've never really figured out Internet coupons... But now fancy a fish foot thing after having shrimps nibble my hands at Alton towers new aquarium last week!

Ooh, nearly forgot... Alton towers cost us 80p each!!!:j:j we used nectar points to pay almost the whole ticket cost. I was SO HAPPY. My OH had wanted to go for his birthday but I didn't think we could afford the £39 each ticket price, as we didn't have Sun BOGOF. We hadn't been in years either, despite loving it there. Nectar didn't have any other offers that were worth as much to us, so it was a great frugal treat.:D. We did all the old favorites and all the big ones, but not Air as it was a pre-breakup day so quite busy with kids school trips, but it did make for a great atmosphere:T
Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!

    Hello fellow frugallers:j:j
Gosh never thought of getting online vouchers for pampering sessions- something else for me to investigate:D
I can proudly announce that I have earnt my first £5 from my online surveys- the plan is to convert them into Amazon vouchers and use for presents later in the year. It's also been a good week for freebies as I've received some cat food, 20 teabags and 2 coffee samples:D:D Yesterday I was reading on the BBC website about a chap who collects aluminium cans which have been dropped as litter- he's so far found 11000 since he started in October last year- he cashes them in for green points at Tesco. Hmmm I thought...perhaps another avenue to investigate. I need these small plans to keep my amused whilst I wait to finish on 29th:rotfl::rotfl:

Totally off topic, but we had a by-election today, a bit shocked that approx 2800 voted Tory. Now a little worried we are royally screwed, as only 9000 voted SNP and labour won with 16000. So we now have a council with no one in power! (Lib dems got 650 votes, but it was expected for them to lose a lot of their voters, having nick clegg as the leader is not doing them any favours.
It really was a 2 horse race between SNP n Labour, n both had their leaders out canvassing for votes (no sign of David Cameron or his lapdog hehe)
Think this is a sign of polls to come? The masses voting labour, as the cuts wouldn't have bn as hard n heavy with them? The thing with politics is always its a bunch of 'what ifs...'

Where do we put out votes then?:)
    Late in the room:beer:

Hi everyone! Sorry i havent posted in a while - good news - we have officially moved back to ireland and living with family to save cash! Its lovely - didnt realise quite how lonely we were in england...!

In other news i have found out BOTH my placements are 50% banded this year so that eased the pressure of OH being out of work.

All in all, a happy time for us :)

Fed all 6 of us tonight with £2 of whoopsie chicken thighs so a good start tonight to feeding 6 on a budget!

How is everyone else getting on with their frugallness?xx
