Google - come here often banner?

Can't see this mentioned anywhere on MSE. Am I the only one to find the blue the Google banner at the top of their pages annoying?

Come here often? Make Google your homepage

The banner even appears if you make Google your homepage. No means of contacting Google about it except through their useless help forum.

What banner? where?

No sign of such a banner here.

I suspect it may be to do with what web browser you are using and what your privacy settings are

It is a bit annoying. But then I'm very adverse to change.

i hate bing-i use it to google google

I only see it on IE, not Firefox so it probably does depend on browser/privacy settings.
It is annoying but I rarely use IE so it won't kill me

i find that if you click the X on the right hand side, it goes away and doesn't come back.

If you hate it so much use BING
