MSE newcomer question

I've just spent quite some time looking around the site and have found lots of good ideas & advice.
I was just wondering if I've missed something I'm looking for. Is there a way to mark favourites? Whether it be a post, catagory or member - there were a lot of things I would have liked to mark as a 'favourite' to be able to get back to later.
Especially being a newbie here, it is a bit overwhelming as there is SO much info and so many links etc . . .
If I've missed a way to mark favourites, sorry - and if there isn't, may I suggest it somewhere?

You can add friends to ur buddy list to see if their online
and you can subscribe to threads to get an email (i think) when a new post is posted on it

Look at subscriptions.
It's not just for being notified about replies. You can subscribe with "no email notification" and then organise your subscriptions in folders
