Problem with Acer 1350?

I've just run Belarc Advisor on my daughter's Acer 1350 laptop as I was rather disappointed with its performance.

The sticker on the case says it's running an Athlon 2400+ with 256M ram. Belarc says the clock speed is 800 MHz with 'Slot 'M2' has 256 MB' but '192 Megabytes Installed Memory'.

I guess that XP is really hobbled by 256M anyway but:

Is the installed memory all working?
Is the processor clock speed right?
Other than upping the ram should I look at anything else for better performance?

Thanks for any advice.
Nice to save.

  • I don't know if this is supported but sometimes processors throttle themselves to save battery life. you could upgrade the processor, that would help
