scottish power, daily service charge doubled?
Hi All, Just had my letter from scottish power, and it appears that although they have not increased the actual unit price it is still 11.546p per unit and will be after 1st August 2011, it appears that the daily service charge has doubled from 15.23p a day to 31.48p per day, is this correct, I am far too angry to phone them about it just yet, any advice?

In all honestty your annual bill is only going to go up about £60... so you have gotten off lightly. Others have gotten far worse than that.0

Exactly what I was thinking.
I would much rather a 50% increase on my standing charge than even a 5% increase in my unit prices.0 -

That doesn`t add up as the national average is 3,300 kwh or roughly 420 quid. Doubling a standing charge is more than a 5% increase on your rate assuming the op is talking about electricity.:money:0 -

Are you really that angry over 16p per day?I wish that's all I had to worry about in life.
Anyway... advice... calm down and then use a comparison site and find yourself a nice capped/fixed rate. Will probably cost you a darn site more than 16p per day but you obviously can't be doing with variable rates."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Daily charges are the equivalent of line rental and not for electricity.
This is the equivalent of British Telecom doubling our line rental
My charge went up 44% and my sisters by 67%
If BT charge a universal price for line rental and a universal line rental increase why are Scottish power not only charging different customers different line rental but also applying a different increase to differernt customers.
This is nothing to do with electricity prices and everything to do with more than doubling the service charge - they will increase the electricity prices separately and tell us they have no choice because the price of electricity on the global market has increased
So for many within months they will find their service charge has increased by 67% and then their electricity price will also increase separately
If it is not ok for BT to increase line rental by 67% and also inflict different increases on different customers (with some getting an increase of more that 23% than others then it is not OK for Scottish Power to do the same)
I suggest every Scottish Power customer complains (as I have -still waiting on the reply)0 -
Is this on all tariffs,if not which one are you on?0

How doesnt it add up? you have no idea how much that home consumes...
what doesnt add up is your maths being based on an average.0
