I was scammed by someone off gumtree- please help!

There is a few things you could do,
You could run the account name through 192.com, you roughly know the area that they may live in, through the previous gumtree advert. The road is listed on the map, have a quick peak on the google street view and try to tie up the address roughly with the pictures taken with the car.
Then you have the facebook route, track down the bank account name, in belfast then find the guy who is more than likely a friend.
Should, if available give you the surname of the guy, then you can go from there etc.0 -
ive no idea but its not exactly a site i would use for expensive purchases
I would rather use gumtree than ebay for an expensive purchase. It is face to face and cash on collection. If you follow those rules then not much can go wrong. If it doesn't 'feel' right when you go to buy then walk away!0
