Amazon

I ordered 2 books from them some weeks ago and was patiently awaiting delivery, I had an e-mail to tell me that my order would be delivered by 23rd Dec as one of the books was for my son's birthday on 22nd I upgraded delivery to next day. I had an e-mail on Monday 18th Dec to tell me that my order had been despatched and would be delivered anytime between 19th and 21st with a tracking number, I tried to track it on 19th unavailable same on 20th and untraceable on City Link website.
Yesterday afternoon I decided to try City Link again and this time it came up with Collection cancelled by Account Holder, which in essence meant that Amazon hadn't sent it out. I phoned them and they told me that the parcel had been sent and that it had been returned as undeliverable, what a load of rubbish, they are saying that it was sent out on Monday and returned to their warehouse by Wednesday, no courier has called here because we have been in waiting for it. They have refunded my money however that is not the point as one was for a birthday present and one for Christmas, when I suggested to them on the phone that the parcel had never been sent they couldn't argue with me and on checking their website today I note that one of the books has gone up by £10, I reckon that they have realised that one of the books was mispriced and therefore cancelled the order without telling me, if they had told me I would have agreed to pay the higher price as I am now 2 presents short and the items are unavailable locally.
I feel badly let down and will never order from them again

On a brighter note I ordered one of the books from Play late yesterday afternoon and it is already posted, if it doesn't come in time I'll just have to explain that it's on it's way, should have stuck with Play as they are reliable

sounds like a problem sourcing the book. Still their fault though.

can't say that I have ever had probs with amazon.

I ordered a PDA case quite late and just selected super saver delivery, then 1st class followed by back to super saver, which brought the delivery date forward 3 days. Arrived a few moments ago and on time.
  • It would not surperise me if the fault was not City link. They are notorious around here for doing similar if they run out of time or if the driver does not know where the address is. Myself and several friends have had several items "undeliverable" or misdelivered by Crappy Link.

The city link driver comes here all the time and never has a problem so I don't think it was them, anyway I hope alls well that ends well and I now get it in time

I ordered a Guitar Hero controller from them at the beginning of November, it was shown as 2 in stock.

Despite this and many emails the dispatch date slowly crept to christmas, finally ending up as January 8th!
I cancelled and got one from Game last night luckily. I shall never rely on them again.

Just got an e-mail from them giving me a £3 gift voucher thanks but no thanks I wouldn't mind but when I originally ordered them I paid for first class delivery they still gave me a delivery date as a fortnight later, not good enough I'm afraid, Play is free and my item is already posted although I didn't order it till yesterday at about 5pm, if I'd know Amazon were going to muck about so much I'd have ordered it originally from Play, I don't know why I didn't I must have had a brainstorm

Couldn't be bothered I'm afraid and anyway I won't spend it as I won't buy anything from them again, I can't get about very well, so if I'm let down I tend not to go there again as I can't risk it
