is this the norm after an accident ? ?

I was involved in an accident last year when stopped in traffic and a woman ran into the back of me at around 5 mph, causing a slight mark on my tow ball rubber boot and another on her number plate.
I informed my insurance of the accident and passed all details on and made it clear it was for information only as no claim was needed but around a week or so later I had a call from their legal team asking me to make a claim for whiplash injuries and telling me I was more or less guaranteed £1000 , when I said I was fine they said it could take a few days until I feel the pain and I should claim just in case.
They seemed a bit surprised ( upset they wouldn't be getting their expenses from a claim ) when I refused to claim and I said I could see why car insurance was so expensive when people get compensated for fake injuries.0 -
Could you tell us the name of your insurer Wayne? What you have said doesn't surprise me but will come as a surprise to many.Wayne3765 wrote:I informed my insurance of the accident and passed all details on and made it clear it was for information only as no claim was needed but around a week or so later I had a call from their legal team asking me to make a claim for whiplash injuries and telling me I was more or less guaranteed £1000 , when I said I was fine they said it could take a few days until I feel the pain and I should claim just in case.

At the time I was with Fortis through Insureyourmotor.com but I went with Privilege at the next renewal date as they were much cheaper and I also got £40 cash back for signing through Quidco :beer:0
