it says they accept returns so you would think that they would except cancelling the transaction rather than costing them money.:j0
-
so could i just simply refuse to except the item if they chose to send it? i hope they dont send it as i dont want them wasting their time and money:j0

If you accept it, you will end up paying for the return. Whilst I don't condone your situation, it may be best to pull the sellers details and telephone them. Explain that you won't be able to accept delivery.0

thankyou. its a horrible situation i have put them in but i really can no longer take the sofa from them. i will speak to them and explain the situation and apologise again for the trouble i have caused and hope they will just go ahead and cancel.:j0

ok just contacted seller again and explaind i would not be able to take the delivery and am soooooooo sorry for the trouble. they have said they will cancel the transaction via their end on ebay and for me to agree to cancel it with them. So all sorted though i feel soo awful and cant apologise enough to the sofa company. Thankyou all for your help.:j0

Well done. Most times face to face, or ear to ear conversations are better than text in a message.0

I would not condone buyers' wasting a seller's time (if they all did they we'd be out of business...), but things come up and it's much better to be honest.
Sounds like you had a genuine change of circumstances, shxt happens

I agree with the above that you sound genuine and hope they come to some agreement with you but I do wonder what you would have done if this situation had arisen next week after you had already receive the sofa? If nothing else hopefully you will learn from this experience and not buy things that will leave you too short of funds to be able to deal with other expenses that crops up.
