Hi guys,
I have been chasing up the issue about the phone number that doesn't take incoming calls, from the OP's post.
There was an error made when we were making some changes and they have now sorted the issue, so the number will be corrected.
I am sorry about this, but thank you for letting me know.

Helena, I don't know the name of the type of meters but I do know that there are storage heaters throughout the flat which are run on off-peak electricity. If this is the reason for refusal then I would like to know. It will save me from trying to switch providers again. I can't see information that says you can't switch if you are on what we used to call 'economy 7' electricity. Can you advise?
thanks:)0 -
Yes of course you can switch from E7 to E7, but as Helena says there may be a metering issue, which is why you need to check what is currently installed (is it a standard dual rate E7 meter or something else)? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks everyone for sticking with me and being patient on this one. Apparently it says on the meter that it is the property of scottish power. It is a comfort plus white meter which has reading for day and night and is also radio controlled so that it can switch to cheaper economy electricity at various times when demand is low. Its a horstmann radio telemeter series 2a. I guess the clue is in there somewhere. cheers0

Hi mabinogion,
I think this will be the problem, E.ON won't be able to support this sort of meter and won't have a tariff to bill you on correctly.
The only way to be sure this is the reason, is to contact us and ask, as I can only speculate:D.

That is the problem, my sister has one and she is stuck with Scottish Power.
No one else will touch it.0
