Curtain pole/rail for ceiling

I have a reccessed bay window and need a curtain for it. The curtain would be too far away from the window if we put it at the front of the recess so really it needs to be attached to the top of it (ceiling of recess),
I have looked in B&Q and Homebase but can't see anything that would allow me to fit a pole/rail to the ceiling part. It cant be attached to the sides with brackets as one of the walls comes away at a 45 degree angle and the other at 90 degrees.
any ideas?

Don't know how you'd do it with a rail, as you'd end up with the actual rail pointing down towards the floor. You could put up a curtain rod, possibly, as the attachments just need to be put on a flat surface, and the pole is just held by them, so it shouldn't matter which way it's pointing. However, I doubt very much that a ceiling would be able to hold that weight. Unless you really need to use the actual bay, it might be easier to just have curtains that close off the whole bay - would keep the room warmer too. Otherwise, I would say your best bet is to fit blinds.0

Try John Lewis or a specialised curtain shop - there ARE options for both pole and rail to run round supported at the corner points of the bay.
I recently did a job using JL curtain pole that has flexible joints for the corners and C shaped "rings" that run past the supports so that you can run two curtains right back out of the way of the whole bay when open.
This was wall fixed but I THINK they do a ceiling version too but not cheap!
I assume that there is insufficient "meat" in the top of the window frame or that the frame is not of an appropriate material for you to face fix into it?
Another option is to ceiling fix a 2" x 2" batton along the line that you want to fix the curtain to and face fix into this. You could then create a soild pelmet with a batton and some board to hide the track if desired.

I Just found this...
http://www.tracksandpoles.com/track_set.shtml
Just put in the length in the "top fix" drop down and away you go.
There are other options and other suppliers.

Matt...thats the thing i think i'm going to need. thanks
this is the window/door
not sure if you can see but the wall to the right goes away at a 45 degree angle. If I hang a curtain at the front of the recess i'm losing quite a bit of space. You can notice theres a wooden bit just above door were I could screw a rail into.0 -
If you put your curtains across the line just this side of the window cill then you can have full height to cover the door and you can draw them back almost all the way for max light. A single pole / rail should do the trick.
Good luck.

Have a look in the argos, we got ours from there as we have a bay window.
It's not on the page with all of the other curtain poles but i thibk one or 2 pages after, it's a a silver one and around £30.
Good luck HTHIf everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.
ROCK IT DON'T STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BE GOOD OR BE GOOD AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight0 -
cheapest way would be to buy a 5m plastic track from argos and top fix this. A pole would look too cumbersome inside the recess but would be fine outside.0
