PC World Returns

Hi,
Well my mother (being not so technologically advanced) bought 4 adsl microfilters the other day, and spent £15 on each one.. totalling £60. I came back from uni to find she had done this and I was fuming, I bought 4 off ebuyer for 99p each.
Can the microfilters be returned to PC World if they have been unopened? My mum rang and they said apparently they dont have a 'change of mind' policy and it is at the manager's discretion whether or not they can be returned.
Does anyone actually know if I have any rights which entitle me to a refund? (They are seriously overpriced).

You have no 'right' to a refund, however I am under the impression that all DSGi stores offer a 14 Day Money Back Guarantee.
AFAIK, this applies to PC World as well0 -
I have looked at the PC world website, but can only find details for online transactions, and it only mentions faulty returns. But I am sure that I have returned items before now.
Maybe if she goes back in person, maybe plays the "dithering old lady" act and claim she has got home and found she has bought the wrong item can she please return it, so long as she has them unopened and with a recipt, there is a chance they will take them back.
Shops are not actually legally obliged to take items back because they dont like the colour/size is wrong/not wanted anymore, they do it as a good will gesture, so you have to appeal to this good will. To play devils advocate, its not PC worlds fault she didn't look around for cheaper prices, their prices are not unlawful and are actuing within their own rights.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
bah.. she's gone back and hopefully they'll give her a refund. Prices not unlawful? I think that's subject to debate!0

You can charge what ever you want for something, its up to the person if they want to buy it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

PC word is well known for over charging thats why we always use scan. An item at PC world cost £15.99 at Scan you will probably pay £5 max. I hope they give your mum her money back.0

Yeh, for something as small as a broadband microfilter, she paid £15 each rather than 99p for the one's i got from ebuyer! I think it's ridiculous how they take advantage of people like my mum who don't really know much about technology.
She opened one of the packets, but still hopefully she can get a refund for the other 3, saving her £45.0 -
My boyfriend works in pc world, i hate the place! hopefully he'll leave there soon!
Anyway, get your mum to take back the opened packet too, im sure they'll give you all the money back.0 -
I have always got a refund from pc world without a problem.0
