Unauthorised alterations made to jointly owned property

Hi
I need some help with wording for a letter.
My sibling and I own a property and whilst I have been away for a few months they made significant alterations to the inside of the property, including knocking walls out and putting bars on the window
I have been denied access to the property and the property now looks like a prison. It is totally out of keeping with the other houses on the road.
Is this allowed?

If your sibling 9jointly) owns the property, (s)he can make alterations. Presumably the relevant Building Regs/Planning rules were complied with?
If you jointly own the property, you cannot be denied access. Get a locksmith to open the door for you! (You may have to prove to him you are the owner).
However it sounds like you have a serious communication problem. Best discuss with your sibling separating your involvement. Either
1) buy out his/her half or
2) sell your half to him/her or
3) sell the property and split the proceeds0 -
