Refund question

I bought an item last week - a tankini top which was described as perfect and brand new. Paid for and arrived promptly.

It has big grubby marks in two places (its a big size lol) so not perfect although clearly new as it has the tags etc. I've now agreed I will send it back and get a refund. However, although the item was sent in England I suspect english isnt the sellers first language and seems to be misunderstanding my question about the return address and refund.

Basically I asked them to confirm that I would get back my original payment along with the postage and that I wanted the money to return post it back too. Does this seem reasonable as the item wasnt as described? If they dont pay my postage to send it back would you pursue this or do negative feedback?

If you open a paypal case seller will only be required to refund the original amount paid including the postage. They cannot be forced to refund the return postage.

They may refund you once the item has been returned, but you can't hold them to that, unfortunately. If they refunded minus return postage when the issue was their fault, then I would still return the item but leave less-than-positive feedback as a result.
