I'm using my computer as my DVD player, however the software I am using will only output audio in stereo, is there a free player that will output multichannel sound?

Is your computer a laptop or desktop/tower?
What are you using at the moment? If someone is worth thanking - click on the 'Thanks' button on their response. It's just a nice thing to do :-)

Thanks for your help, VLC does it perfectly.
Chris I'm using both a laptop and computer connected to a projector and a USB soundcard that connects to my amp via a optical digital cable so the amp can process the signal.
It is all working a treat now, many thanks and sorry for the later reply.0 -
