For Sale Sign - Selling Privately

Options
Hi,

I bought a for sale sign off Ebay and they put your mobile number on it.

This might be a silly question but is there any risk of putting up a for sale sign with one's mobile number on it. Sure, I know they need to contact me.

I'm just checking really in case it's a terrible idea!

Thanks,
Ed.

Why did you waste your money buying the sign? Make it yourself!

Buy a cheap pay as you go mobile.

If you're worried about security, you could always buy a cheap pay as you go phone and use that number. Or get another SIM.
Not sure I'd want to put my mobile number out on the street like that...

Edit: ML beat me to it

As well as using a pay and go phone/sim make sure the phone is turned of when you go to bed, as you will get some joker ringing at stupid o'clock in the morning. You could have the voice-mail turned on for genuine enquiries

Also be careful if you're out and answer the phone.

Saying "sorry I'm away for 2 days" could be a red light to a burglar sitting outside!

Overall a good idea to try though, there are also ways to get listed on property websites without estate agents which others more knowledgeable may be able to help on.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
