Car Insurance - Insurer hasn't taken the money?

I have my insurance with Direct Line, have done for a number of years. I usually pay annually by direct debit. I received my renewal (which like everyone else's has gine up by £200 since last year:eek:) it stated it would automatically renew, money to be debited from my account on 21st June. I received my certificate of motor insurance a couple of days ago. The premium however is still sitting in the bank. I got OH to ring up yesterday (as it's in his name) and double check they have the right bank details etc, (they do) and they informed him it came out yesterday. I have checked the account and it definately hasn't.
As I have the certificate, am I insured whilst it is being sorted? It's very annoying to have to keep ringing them, especially a OH has to do it, they wont talk to me, and he works long hours and its late when he gets home. Have not had this problem with them before.

It'll show in a day or two.
It's worth putting the isurance in your name, if you're the main driver, and earning ncd in your own right.0 -
Next time he speaks to them ask him to tell them that he gives you third party authorisation to speak to them to save it always being them.
It may be easier to have a quick word with your bank, if DL say they requested the monies yesterday your bank should be able to see the request even if the monies haven't left the account yet.0
