Graphic card

Hi All I am after a bit of advice re updating my graphics card. I have a Radeon 9200 AGP 128MB card which I put in just to get me up and running when my old card died. I need to get a new card. I do not do gaming but do some graphics work. I have just seen in the play.com sale an ATI Radeon 9250 256MB Connect 3D AGP graphic card at £29.99 delivered. Is this a good buy or do I need to keep looking. Thanks

The new card will be roughly equivalent to the card that you have in at the moment. The extra memory (256Mb instead of 128Mb) will allow you to work with larger graphics. £30 sounds like a good deal.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0

Hi Thanks It did sound like a good deal. I might as well stick with the one I have and see if I can a slightly better one for a little more.0

i'd say put the money away and buy a new pc when it comes round to it. AGP is a dying format so whatever you buy, it would depreciate and will fall behind in performance sooner.formerly mrmilo690

the extra memory will do little to nothing and the core is similar to what you alreadyd have so I wouldn't bother personally.0

you could try and over clock the one you have at the moment to get slightly better performance http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ may damage the card. http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/0

Is your ATI 9200 still working???
If this is so then it will be enough for most non-gaming needs unless you ar using things like Blender or software that can use the computer graphics card. If you are determined to upgrade a Nvidia 6200 or ATI 9550 will be a better bet.128MB versions can be had for 30-40 quid.0
