Cheap toilet pan needed!

We moved out of our old flat in June and have had an "addendum" to the previously clear checkout report a week afterwards saying that the toilet pan is cracked. I don't remember doing this but accept it wasn't in the ingoing report. However the landlord is asking for £300 for a replacement pan.

It's a "back to wall" style pan where the cistern is built into a wooden unit which also holds the sink and some shelving.

I think this amount is excessive. Can anyone help me with finding some quotes to challenge this?

Thank you!

Back to the wall pan is about £100 (or less) plus fitting plus vat. Also, there may be work to the flooring as the new pan will unlikely be exactly the same as the old one. So maybe £300 isn't far off the mark.

We had contents insurance, yes... Would that apply to toilets? Assumed it would just be for removables.

Worth checking your policy . Also , your landlord will surely have building insurance and you should ask him about this.
Even if you have to pay any excess on his policy this may be a good solution for both you and him.
