i've done a search but the techie FAQ question links aren't working for me,so wonder if anyone can help.
i have a stack of videos taking up space, that i'd like to convert to DVD and then get rid of. at the moment i don't have a DVD player, apart from the one on my computer (which is not a burner). So my question is, if i buy an ordinary cheapo DVD player/recorder (ie to go with my tv, not on the pc) can i then wire my video player up to it and record across? Can someone tell me what leads i would need to plug into where??! (I just about get the terms 'scart lead' and 'male/female' leads and that's about the limit of my techical ability...)

How about a combined DVD recorder/VHS?Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Its a very simple process. I bought a cheap 4kus dvd recorder to put my video8 camcorder tapes onto disc. Just connect an output socket from your VCR to an input socket on the player, ideally scart to scart. Play the tape and record on the appropriate channel on your dvd recorder.0

There's a cheap cable and software to record VCR video to DVD. I think Aldi sell it.0

I'm in the process of transferring my old VHS tapes to DVD. This is what I use

It's just over £20 but very easy to use. Only one slight hitch when I first bought mine, you need a scart with an in/out switch on it. It's very easy and if you have favourite video editing software it will work in that as well.0
