Mobile Phone Contracts during an IVA

Hi all
Has anyone had any success getting a mobile phone contract while being under an IVA?
I attempted this yesterday but was flatly refused during a credit check.
Are there any networks/companies which have a higher acceptance rate for people with lower rated credit historys or I am due to be stuck on pay as you go for the remainder of the IVA and possibly beyond?
Thanks in advance

It may have changed since I worked in this industry but some will accept if you pay a deposit, to be returned at the end of the contract. However, I remember that about 5 years ago it was £150 that was asked forFeb 2024:
CC1 6537.66
CC2 7804.45
CC3 4221.17
CC4 2053.68
CC5 989.30
Loan 1 3686.44
Loan 2 5275.22
Total £30,567.920 -
Thanks for that, I'll give it a try.....................nothing to lose as they say...........they can only say No again : )0

Just be careful about doing too many searches in a short space of time. Have you looked at the sim only deals - a 30 day contract and then look at a full contract later on?
The network at the time was 3 - but I think they took a bit of a hammering over how they were accepting peopleFeb 2024:

Hi
I have been on an IVA for the past year. I spoke to my IVA relationship manager and they said they had no problems with me getting contract phones but finding a provider may be an issue.
I tried car phone warehouse and phones4u but failed the credit check straight away. I have been with Virgin media for years for my TV Home phone & Broadband so I thought I would give them a try.
I spoke to one of the sales bods at virgin mobile and explained my situation to them. They tried ordering a contract for me but again the credit check failed it. The sales person put an appeal against the dessision on my behalf and I was told it passed two days later. After a couple of days the arrangement was finalised and tomorrow I have two phones an HTC Desire S and an HTC Wildfire S on £17.99 a month contracts arriving.
Don't give up it can happen.

Not sure about an IVA but i know my friend was able to get a three contact and a phone (4 years back though) with 2 settled defaults. He was asked for a deposit but dont remember how much it was. I also hear t-mobile run a poor credit history account but its only available buy calling the sales team. Its a sim only with a very low credit limit (ie they cut you off if you go over your allowances by say £10) but also migh be worth looking intoIf you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

I got a Virgin Mobile contract during a DRO as did a friend of mine. Seems they'll accept just about anyone. Signal can be hit and miss though... but it was this or PAYG...So Virgin it was.If it wasn't for the mistakes I made in the past (and learned from), I wouldn't be who and where I am today. It doesn't matter if you've cocked up, what matters is that you put it right and apologise. x0

I have a CCJ and an IVA and am in a similar situation, i have a mobile phone i want to keep so just need a sim only contract and would be nice to have it in my own name as the last 18 month contract have been in my partners name.
I am debating if there are any 'best' companys to apply though, as of course dont want to trash my rating with lots of failed checks.
I am even prepared to pay a deposit up front if it means i can get one in my own name too, i called O2 but they dont do anything like that, its simply a computer that says yes or no !0
