Extra car - who will match my NCD?

Right now we have 2 cars and both have full NCD. We want to buy a third basically because neither of our cars are useful family-mobiles and my wife is due at the end of January - we got our mits into a great car at trade price so we want to bump up to 3 cars now and maybe sell one (or not) as time goes on. I know I've heard of people who have manged to get their insurance companies to start them off with a good NCD rather than insisiting that they start at 0 again but I don't know who to phone for a quote. Does anyone have any suggestions? Frankly I don't see why I should start earning another round of NCD, the ins companies work out the basic premium based on the pay-out risk and give me X% discount on 1 car - I'm the same risk if I'm driving the other car too (i've not yet worked out how to drive 2 at once).
Cheers,
Duncan

I can kind of answer your question

Asda insurance will match NCB for the first year only but IIRC you have to insure at least 2 cars with them.
We have got 2 cars and hubby used his full NCB on one car then as we insured the second car with them at the same time they matched the full NCB on the second car. The policies renewed last month and the second car was documented as only having 1 year NCB on it. So they match for 1 year then that policy starts earning its own NCB.
(Reading it back I'm not sure I make sense but I hope you get what I mean
) :heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi Shelly, thanks for your info. I actually sorted this out OK with my insured Admiral. We already have a multicar policy for our 2 existing cars with them, they quoted to add the new 3rd car to the policy then with just the faintest of pushes rolled over and put my full NCB onto this one as well (so all 3 at full NCB). I hope they don't try and push it back to 0 when the renewal comes, if they do I'm afraid they'll just loose me as I take all of our business to someone else. From what I've heard so far thats not the normal practice.
Merry Christmas,
