I am on unpaid extended materity leave, when the tax credits suddenly stopped a fortnight ago.I phoned up the tax office and they have over paid me by £1500 and they said i cant appeal against the decision.I will be going back to work in a month, trying to claim housing benefit.Can't claim income support because husband is working full time.Is there a way i can appeal against stopping the tax credit?AS i am only living on my child benefit?

I have emailed my MP a fortnight ago about my problem, so i have contacted the near-by TOWN MP, see if she gets back to me.

how come they can change payment dates as and when they feel like it? i'm having to borrow monies for petrol today to get to work due to the fact i have been 'reprofileed' and now dates have changed

Ask them to break down the overpayment to find out who is at fault. If it's their fault, you shouldn't have to repay.
