    How old is the Mobo?

But best practice is to have a good 1-2 inch around the sides and top of the PC, with a good 7-9 inches at the back to let air move...
Also don't sit anything on top or have them around things like beds (furniture like beds, sofas & rugs all trap head and act like a woolly jumper insulating the machine!) lol

Just make sure you've good airflow around the machine, and if you stick it in a cupboard or under the stairs make sure it's not too packed or warm...

I bought it on the 11th October last year. Have submitted an RMA, need to phone them for the next stage - I presume it was my fault really though.

Have bought another one, the model just up from this, plus 2gb Ram

I stuck 4Gb in my ION board...
It runs a dream, I use Ubuntu, I've found it's a bit cooler running than windows Servers but never tried Home Server Edition.

It's mainly a media server. rather than a file server...

Mine is also used as a media server, nearly 2tb of films on there. My dvds are in the loft but would be a pain to rip them all again!
