DVLA - talking to a human?

Does anyone know how to get to talk to a human at the DVLA? I've been through the 0300 number to ask a question but I just get a recorded message after pressing numerous buttons and no opportunity to find out what I want to!

Failing that does anyone know if I can change my name, address & photograph at my local DVLA office? Some pages on the website say no, others say I can use the premium service at these places.

I need it done as quickly as possible so would be easier if I could just pop down the road rather than send it off for up to three weeks

Thanks, C xx

even if you send off for it you can still drive, it just means you don't have your license for buying booze if you look 12.

Although to be honest, the last time i had to phone them i got a friend to phone because she's Welsh and thought i'd be easier... Although if you nip down to your local office, if they have the relevant forms there then you probably can do - or they'll at least tell you there. BUT !! it's too close to the end of the month to even risk it (tax renewals)

I know I can still drive & I don't carry my licence for ID purposes - I need it changed urgently for a mortgage application (I haven't got round to it since I got married as we keep moving house)

I've got the form to fill in in front of me but I have too many questions (they need my passport as ID but that's still in my maiden name too & will be for the next 4 years - so does this mean I can't renew my licence?!)

I can't get out of work to go down there unless I know I can get my licence changed then & there (we have to have permission slips to get out of work  ) & the phone number just goes to recorded messages in Swansea :(

that is a 'premium checking service'

so they'll just make sure it's right and then post it for you.

Thanks, just hope they're feeling quick! :( Still don't know if they'll accept my passport as it's in my maiden name but going to have to give it a go.

The DVLA switchboard no is 01792 782341, that'll go through to a human who will re-direct your call to the right dept
