Firefox update, Trillian and a whole load of problems

Ok so my i goe to work one day and tells my gf 'whatever you do, do not download anything' so what does she do download Trillian and now my fire fox is not working! It's lucky i have Internet Explorer other wise this could be a worse problem! lol!

What happened was i downloaded Trillian (it's like an MSN messenger service) and then i also started my Anti Vir update thing! Next thing i know it says ' Firefox has installed an update ' next time you turn your comp on they will automatically install. So i turn comp off and on and they were installed and ever since my firefox not working! Here are the messages i keep getting!

I just downloaded Slim browser which appears absolutely fabulous but is also not working

Your best bet is to do a System Restore to yesterday's date.

How do i do that? I have been advised to unistall Firefox and reboot what do you think?

Check your firewall settings, I installed the firefox update yesterday and my firewall needed confirmation that firefox should run as the file had changed

Hmm Firewall sorry I'm his girlfriend not that bright lol what do you mean?
We're Using AntiVir if thats what you mean??

It was just one possibility, I'm sorry but without knowing if you are running a firewall and if you are what one I can't really help.

It won't hurt uninstalling Firefox and rebooting but as suggested above a system restore from before the changes were made might fix everything

I unistalled it and rebooted and it didn't work i think that i have firewalls! No way i can check?

Also when i try to use slimbrowser it pops up with this message in a new window:
