Hi there
I'm just masking up the kitchen to start painting the woodwork and I've got to my blind. I have taken off the front strip of it but I can't see how to remove it so I can get to the woodwork.
Rather than waiting for DH to get around to doing it (as I want to paint the woodwork this year
) I thought I'd pop on here and ask you lovely helpful people
. You all know everything and there's always the answer I need.
I await inspiration, thanks guys

The ones I've just fitted in our home have brackets at each end; the header of the blind fits into these, and hinged pieces fold inward in front of the header, and hold it in place.
If you have these, wrap a cloth/tissue/duster around an old screwdriver or similar flat blade, insert this between the blind header and the folding plate and lever it forward until you can grip it and open it fully.
The header should then be pulled forward to bring it out of the brackets. Much easier if you roll the blind all the way up and tie up the cords into short lengths.0 -
Thanks for that, it's what I thought but I couldn't do it easily and didn't want to rip the whole thing off the wall because DH would kill me
. I shall go and find a screwdriver

See step 5 here: http://www.color-blind.co.uk/fitting-instructions-venetian-blinds-wood.asp - will probably be either the box mounted either end of the header rail, or the swivel brackets mounted a few inches in from either end.0

The "Left and Right Box Brackets" in my case open outward, rather than upward, but same idea....0

mine were more like those centre bracket boxes. at each end. think it was 3 screws in each bracket.
same idea though.Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks all for your tips. I had a fiddle and wasn't able to do it. Having looked at the guide, I have some more ideas so will try them. If I still can't do it, I will have to turn my womanly charms on to DH
.
