sky hd subscription

basically i got a bill in post and had sky hd on it being charged at £10.25, i called and asked what this was, they told me you signed up for 12 month agreement online in april, i then mentioned the fact it wasnt me, i never agreed to anything and couldnt have done so as i was in hospital and had no accsess to the internet during the period they said it was done.
they then said it was done online, and i had click agree to terms, i then went back over what i just said.
they then said someone else must have done it.
my argument is i never joined the hd subscription ever, also if someone else had done this on my account with out my knowledge surely this would be wrong, as when you phone up they ask for passwords, details etc on account before speaking to you.
where do i stand

It's either fraud, or a computer glitch or you've signed up without realising. Whichever the cause, the end result is you're now paying for a service you don't want and don't believe you've requested. Write to them, reiterating once again that you didn't sign up for this, that either your account's been used fraudulently or their system's had a problem, and request cancellation of the contract.
Have they got your bank details or are you being billed? Are you a customer of theirs anyway?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
im a customer anyway,
i get a bill and pay that way every month, its been on since april and they refuse to remove it0 -

OK. Write to them, and don't pay the bill. Ultimately they'll have to take you to court (if the worst case scenario happens and they don't listen to you). Keep asking them to cancel, repeating that you didn't sign up for this service. Usually you get emails to confirm that you've signed up to something online. Ask them if they send confirmation mails. If they do, ask them to produce the mail they sent you. (Check your spam folder too).
I find it a little strange that the only notification you've got is an extra charge on your bill. Something's a bit odd."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

It may be that someone in your house has logged on to you account and set it up. If they have, then allowing them to have your password has authorised it for you, you may struggle to convince them now that this is anything other than buyers remorse.0

Into your Sky HD box? Sorry, that doesn't make sense.
If you've got an HD box did you cancel the original HD subscription you took out when they installed the new box? If so, did it run the full 12 months.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
when i signed up, i asked for sky + box but they gave me the hd box, with no hd package which i wanted.
so never had had subscription before.
also never given password to anyone else in house as my 1 year old daughter would struggle to use a laptop and accsess sky accounts.0 -

the quote you say is, when you join sky you get given a sky email address, this is used for the account, all info is sent there such as any payments made, changes in packages etc0 -
