Elephant - Windscreen Chip Repair

With Elephant for a fully comp policy, had a windscreen fitted last year (different insurer, no windscreen cover, paid £225 out of my own pocket).
I've now got a small chip in the windscreen, so I wondered if A - I will get it repaired for free, and B - If it's actually "free" - i.e. will it be logged as a claim etc that will come to hurt at renewal time.

Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

A) check your policy wording - most insurers repair for free but some do charge a reduced excess for glass repair
It will be logged as a claim but if it impacts premium.... this will vary between insurers. Many insurers will not load premiums for a single glass repair claim but that isnt to say all wont; it does need to be declared 0 -
If the chip can be repaired most insurers don't charge an excess. Check the elephant policy to be sure.
It will still count as a claim and needs to be declared but most insurers don't really put any loading on to a rate for such a claim.0 -
From memory Elephant do charge a reduced excess on repairs (at least on my policy), they also specify they'll only pay a maximum of something ike £50 if not arranged through their windscreen replacement line.0

Repairs with elephant are free and it will be logged as a claim so will have to be declared on future insurance policies although it wont affect your NCD.0
