Booked a collection with Parcel2Go on Friday at 1.30pm. Paid £8 for Home Delivery Network to collect and deliver a parcel of Christmas presents to Stafford (only 120 miles way).
No-one turned up Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday. Spoke to parcel2go everyday, they promised faithfully to resolve, and even said they would use DHL as back up to ensure delivery for xmas. No-one turned up!
I now have to spend £18.40 on a guaranteed special delivery at the P.O. I should've done that first!!
Parcel2Go said they will refund but no compensation. They are rubbish don't use them!!
Oh, and by the way Home delivery network are also supposed to be delivering a book from Amazon. They received it 5 days ago but will not delivery until the 27th. Work that one out!!

Out of interest had you paid for a specific delivery time, e.g. next day, or within two days etc.? If so then since they were in breach of contract by not providing this, you could reasonably make a claim against them for £10.40 difference.
Of course, they probably won't pay and you'll have to end up either taking them to court or dropping it (life's probably too short not to do the latter), but a letter to them requesting this can't hurt.Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

I paid for 2/3 day delivery. When I asked about compensation they said it wasn't a guaranteed service and hung up!0

In that case you are perfectly entitled to a refund. I can't see anything in their Ts and Cs which contradicts this: in fact they say
In this Agreement "damage caused to the Customer" means any damage suffered by the Customer (including for the avoidance of doubt any loss of or damage to any Consignment and loss of any other kind whether direct or consequential), howsoever arising caused by any negligence, breach of duty or other wrongful act or omission (which phrase, wherever it appears in this Agreement, includes any deliberately wrongful act or omission and any breach, howsoever fundamental, of any express or implied term of this Agreement) on the part of the Company its servants or agents:
and then limits their liability to:
in respect of any claim arising other than as a result of loss of or damage to a Consignment or part thereof, of a sum not exceeding £50 in respect of any one Consignment.
I don't think this really intended to cover the aspect of guaranteed delivery but I can't see why it wouldn't cover it. It does say you need to make a claim within seven working days by post (using a claim form on their web site).Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world
