Which Adobe software to purchase?

If you can afford it then I would get CS Design Standard that includes:
Illustrator
Photoshop
InDesign
Acrobat
The student edition is £237 - http://store2.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?event=displayProduct&categoryOID=6870852&store=OLS-EDU-UK
I use all of these for design work (along with Dreamweaver and Flash for web work and Premiere for video). If you had to pick just one of them then I think you would get most use out of Photoshop.
You can pretty much achieve what you need to do with Photoshop alone. It's £190 on the Adobe education store.
Just a word of warning. If you are buying the software then only buy it from an approved retailer and not from ebay or amazon marketplace (the main Amazon is OK). You could end up paying over the odds for counterfeit software.0
