thanks to the bank (for once)

Went into HBOS at lunchtime today to invoke the Direct Debit Indemnity Guarantee.

In May, Hydro Electric sent a letter to say my DD would increase from £70/mth to £153/mth to keep up with consumption.

A quick call confirmed that they were basing this on wildly inaccurate estimates and that £70/month would cover it when averaged out over the year.

So guess how much they took by DD today? That's right, £153!

After visiting HBOS the funds were back in my account by 3pm - good service.

On 'phoning HE to let them know - they confirmed that my account was in credit, and that actually they wouldn't need this month's payment anyhow!

Bonkers - but nice to be positive about a bank (for once!)
DF
